Message from Omring in Clermont

Hi, my name is Omring. I do not come from Auvergne, but I have been spending most of my time in Clermont for the last six months for a study course.
One family-friendly place to visit here in Clermont is the town center, which is historical and beautifully renovated: the Place de Jaude.

This square leads on to Rue des Gras and to the beautiful black volvic stone cathedral, near which is a fabulous fountain. The atmosphere of Place de la Victoire square is quiet and restful and impressive with its black stone buildings all around. It is surrounded by many small and twisty streets full of shops, allowing the visitor to discover unexpected exotic treasures at each turn. It's all well worth a visit!

Place de Jaude:
Yes this is a big place but a boring place because there is nothing to do there for young people and students.
No concerts,no summer splash, no sound system,no free activities...
A visit to Clermont-Ferrand can be very educational and impressive historically, but living there is very boring in my opinion!

I agree, it's a very boring place. Prefer the "Place de la Victoire" wich is nicer, more typical, and near the cathedral. Jaude is a very common place, a place where even the trees seem to be artificials.
